Halloween "Booing" Resources
We're big fans of "Booing" around here! It's just so much fun! That's why we've put together two ready-to-print "You've Been Boo'ed" and "We've Been Boo'ed" pages that will make it easy for you to start the "Boo" in your neighborhood (or to keep the "Boo" going if you've already been "Boo'ed.")
What is "Booing?" Booing is kind of like Secret Santa for Halloween. Except it's with ghosts. And well, there's no assigned gift recipients. You just make two (or more) treat baskets or bags filled with your favorite Halloween goodies, and then drop them on the door-step of people in the neighborhood, ring the door bell and run. Make sure to put in a "You've Been Boo'ed" sheet to let your neighbor know why they are getting these treats (and a "We've Been Boo'ed" sign for them to put in their window so they don't get "Boo'ed" again. The idea is for each family who is "Boo'ed" to Boo two more neighbors, until the whole neighborhood is displaying "We've Been Boo'ed" signs. (Of course, if that has happened you can always start the Boo in a neighboring neighborhood...).
How To Start the "Boo" In Your Neighborhood (Or Continue The "Boo" If You Got Boo'ed"!:
Step One:
- Print two copies of the "You've Been Boo'ed" Sheet.
- Print two copies of the "We've Been Boo'ed" Sign.
Step Two:
- Make two (or more) treat baskets or bags. We recommend giving an assortment of Halloween Chocolate Candy Making Supplies-- maybe a plastic sheet mold and a bag of Bada Bing Bada Boom Candy Melts, or some Bada Bing Bada Boom Dipping & Enrobing Chocolate with Orange and Black Jimmies or Non-Pariels. Want to get started sooner? A Chocoley.com gift certificate for them to buy their own supplies is always nice. Of course, you can also make your own homemade Halloween treats to include in the basket, or (gasp) give them pre-made store bought stuff.
- Make sure to include one set of the "You've Been Boo'ed" Sheet and the "We've Been Boo'ed" Sign in each treat you're delivering.
Step Three:
- Drop the treats on the doorstep of an unsuspecting neighbor, ring the doorbell, and run.
Step Four:
- Watch the "Boo" spread through your entire neighborhood.
Make sure to start in late September or early in October so that your whole neighborhood gets the chance to get in on the fun!
