Chocolate Covered Banana Sandwiches

This recipe is the perfect nostalgic bite-sized snack. If your childhood memories include snacking on bananas and vanilla wafers, then you will love this recipe! If they don’t then I’m sure that this recipe will create new lasting memories.


  • 1 lb. Bada Bing Bada Boom Dipping & Coating Gourmet Compound Chocolate
  • Bananas
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies
  • Decorative Toppings (optional)
  1. Slice the bananas into 1/4″ thick pieces.
  2. banana.step.1Sandwich slices between two vanilla wafers. Gently squeeze so that it sticks together.
  3. Melt chocolate using instructions that came with your Chocoley chocolate. Ideally, use a double boiler (or a double boiler insert). Do not let the water touch the bottom of the double boiler. Only let the water simmer. Do not allow it to boil or you may burn the chocolate.If you must use a microwave, melt on medium heat for short periods being very careful not to overheat the chocolate.
  4. banana-step.2Use a dipping tool to dip each sandwich into the melted chocolate. Turn to coat completely.
  5. Gently tap dipping tool on side of bowl to allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  6. Place dipped banana sandwiches onto glossy side of Heavy Weight Dipping Sheet lined tray.
  7. apply yellow sprinklesOPTIONAL: Immediately sprinkle with nonpareils.
  8. Let the chocolate set-up (harden) by placing the dipping sheet lined tray on a level shelf in the refrigerator until it is obvious that chocolate is set-up. This can take between 15-30 minutes. WARNING: Don’t leave the chocolate in the refrigerator for too long. The chocolate can become too cold and will “sweat” or even crack when brought to room temperature.
  9. Seal in an airtight container until ready to serve. Store at room temperature in low humidity. Eat within 2 days.
